About The Position

As an EMC Sr. Technologist, reporting to the Test Lab Manager, you will play a key role in planning and executing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing activities. Based in our Mayfield Heights, Ohio laboratory, you'll be responsible for creating test setups, operating and maintaining specialized equipment, and documenting results. You'll also help define testing methods and procedures, perform failure analysis when needed, and ensure the lab's equipment is fully operational and ready to support ongoing evaluations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of relevant EMC or RF testing electronic evaluations experience.
  • ASEET or equivalent education.
  • A basic knowledge of ISO 17025.
  • A basic knowledge of IEC/EN Product standard and Test standards (includes the IEC/EN 61000-4-x standards for the general guidance on administering the EMC testing).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in evaluation teams for design qualifications of new and existing Rockwell Automation products.
  • Design, develop, and execute test suits for EMC and system level evaluations, individually and in concert with team engineers.
  • Assist in special investigatory and/or research test procedures.
  • Suggest methods for use of instrumentation to project teams.
  • Prepare documentation required by departmental procedures and defined by role on evaluation team.
  • Provide expert guidance in set-up and execution of EMC tests as needed.
  • Participate in departmental efforts to provide facilities for international EMC standards compliance evaluations.
  • Determine EMC testing methods.
  • Initiate corrective actions on issues associated with lab equipment to avoid cost overruns to the business or schedule delays.
  • Responsible for designated lab facilities, providing for maintenance, calibration, verifications, assist in planning and implementing lab improvements.
  • Adhere to laboratory quality system and ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Update procedures based on knowledge of equipment, tests and international standards.
  • Handle, segregate and dispose of all hazardous wastes and potentially hazardous wastes in accordance with federal and state regulations.
