About The Position

Under minimal supervision, responsible for the day to day operations of the embryology laboratory.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, medical terminology or related field.
• 5 years of experience in human invitro fertilization procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee work of lower level employees. Assist laboratory director in training of Embryologist I and Embryologist II level employees.
• Perform all embryology laboratory procedures.
• Perform patient consultations for laboratory consent forms.
• Demonstrate sufficient competency in basic embryology and andrology procedures needed for in-vitro fertilization.
• Identify and collect oocytes for insemination.
• Analyze and prepare specimens for insemination or for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
• Assess fertilization and zygote quality following insemination.
• Assess daily grading and handling of embryos.
• Prepare embryos for intrauterine transfer, cryopreservation and thawing of embryos at varying stages of development.
• Perform cryopreservation and thawing of oocytes and embryos.
• Perform embryo biopsy
• Ensure IVF laboratory quality assurance and control.
• Responsible for maintenance of laboratory documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
