This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of embroidery techniques, and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues. An Embroidery Machine Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the production of high-quality embroidered products. They must have the technical skills to operate the machinery efficiently and the attention to detail to produce accurate and visually appealing embroidery designs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as an Embroidery Machine Operator is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various types of embroidery machines and software.
  • Knowledge of different embroidery techniques and thread types.
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills for embroidery machines.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and calibrate embroidery machines according to design specifications.
  • Load embroidery designs into the machine and adjust settings for color, size, and placement.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure designs are stitched accurately and consistently.
  • Handle machine start-up, shut-down, and routine maintenance.
  • Material Preparation: Hoop or stretch textiles securely on frames or hoops before embroidery.
  • Select appropriate threads, bobbins, and needles for each job.
  • Ensure materials are free of wrinkles, stains, or defects before starting the embroidery process.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality, including checking for thread breaks, puckering, and misalignment.
  • Make adjustments to the machine or design as needed to maintain high-quality embroidery.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, oiling, and changing needles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions and thread issues.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of embroidery jobs, including design details, thread colors used, and production times.
  • Report any supply shortages or equipment problems to supervisors.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Adhere to workplace rules and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
