About The Position

Settlemier's Award Jackets Inc., a Portland institution with over 70 years of craftsmanship, is seeking an experienced Embroidery Department Manager to oversee and elevate our embroidery operations. As the Embroidery Department Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our embroidery work continues to meet the exceptional standards that have defined our brand. You'll manage a talented team of technicians, oversee digitization and production processes, and collaborate across departments to deliver outstanding results.

Requirements

• 5+ years in commercial embroidery management with technical knowledge of machines, processes, and digitization software.
• Proven ability to lead teams, optimize workflows, and maintain high morale.
• Expertise in embroidery digitizing software and machine troubleshooting/maintenance.
• A quality-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all embroidery operations, including digitization and production workflows.
• Manage, train, and develop a team of embroidery specialists (Technicians and Leads).
• Schedule and prioritize embroidery projects to meet tight production deadlines.
• Ensure quality control for all embroidered designs and products.
• Collaborate with Customer Service to meet client-specific embroidery needs.
• Oversee digitization of embroidery designs using cutting-edge software.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and manage supplies for seamless operations.
• Coordinate with the Production Department for embroidered patch application.
• Track department performance metrics and implement process improvements.
• Report directly to the Production Director on department progress and challenges.
