About The Position

The Embroiderer operates an embroidery machine to add customized designs, logos, or text to various types of uniforms. This work enhances the visual appeal of uniforms, promotes branding, and adds a personal touch to the garments for various first responder groups and municipal organizations within MES, Inc.’s customer base. This role is critical in personalizing uniforms and enhancing brand identity through custom embroidery, combining technical skills, artistic creativity, and attention to detail to produce high-quality embroidered uniform designs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating embroidery machines and working with embroidery software.
  • Knowledge of different types of fabrics and materials used for embroidery.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in design placement and thread colors.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet production and customer deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, especially when working with clients to understand their customization needs.
  • Mechanical aptitude for machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the embroidery industry

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate computerized embroidery machines to embroider designs, logos, or text onto uniforms and other garments.
  • Design Setup: Prepare and load embroidery designs into the machine, ensuring proper positioning, size, and alignment.
  • Thread Selection: Choose appropriate threads and thread colors according to client requirements or design specifications.
  • Hooping and Stabilizing: Hoop the garments and use stabilizers to ensure smooth and precise embroidery.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed embroidery for quality, accuracy, and consistency, making any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot embroidery machines, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Material Selection: Select appropriate backing materials and fabrics based on the type of garment and design.
  • Customization: Thoroughly understand customer specifications to customize embroidery designs according to customer needs and preferences, confidently asking questions for clarity when needed.
  • Scheduling: Prioritize and manage orders to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Documentation: Keep records of designs, thread colors, and materials used for future reference.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe, following safety guidelines when operating machinery.
