About The Position

As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of a small, elite team. This isn't just a firmware role; it’s a hybrid challenge where low-level systems meet high-scale backend architecture. You will lead the effort to architect scalable solutions, optimize networked device firmware, and drive technical excellence to ensure our distributed network remains the backbone of the open web data movement.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of writing robust, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Proven experience building and scaling large distributed systems.
• Direct experience in low-level programming, embedded systems, or firmware development specifically for networked devices.
• In-depth familiarity with modern SDLC practices, including CI/CD, and a proven ability to debug and resolve issues within intricate, live software environments.
• Professional or native English language proficiency.
• Mastery of C and Go, with professional experience in JavaScript and firmware toolchains/embedded libraries.

Responsibilities

• Build new features and improvements across both backend API layers and device firmware.
• Test, deploy, and debug services that bridge the gap between application code and embedded systems.
• Write clear, documented, and extensively tested code for mobile, desktop, and server-side applications.
• Create and review technical designs and documentation to ensure our infrastructure can handle billions of data points.
• Work closely with a technical leadership team to expand our global knowledge graph and distributed crawler capabilities.
• Work at the intersection of AI and decentralized infrastructure, building a platform that redistributes the value of AI to everyday people.
