About The Position

Emerson offers an exciting opportunity for an Embedded Software Test Engineer who is passionate about identifying undesired behavior and verifying expected behavior in embedded systems. This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow in their career and contribute to innovative solutions. Based in our Shakopee, Minnesota location, you will be responsible for testing all aspects of the embedded software for the products in the Liquid Analysis group as part of the Measurement Solutions organization, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of process analytical equipment for liquid analysis, combustion analysis, and gas analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree is preferred
  • Good communication skills and the ability to participate as a member of a team
  • Strong interest and/or related experience with embedded systems
  • Experience with C#, test automation, software test techniques and methodology
  • Prior internship or co-op experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and creating test plans and test cases for embedded software, based on requirements and functional documentation
  • Executing test cases, performing regression testing, finding and documenting issues
  • Performing test data analysis and preparing test reports
  • Building test automation using C#
  • Providing process improvements and recommendations
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from requirements definition through post-release activities
  • Work with cross-functional global teams including Software Development, Hardware Development, and System Architecture.
