Moog's Santa Barbara Operations in Goleta, California, is growing-and we're looking for Embedded Software Engineers and Systems Engineers at multiple levels, from early career to senior and expert professionals. These positions require having a current Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain Security Clearance. Our Santa Barbara site specializes in: Stabilized Turret Drive Systems Integrated Weapon Systems (from mechanical design to fire control electronics and software) Ammunition Handling Data Control and Distribution Power Management and Distribution We are hiring for two primary technical tracks-you'll be considered for roles based on your skills and interest: Embedded Software Engineering In this role, you may: Design, code, debug, and integrate software for embedded real-time control systems Work with RTOS (real-time operating systems) or embedded Linux Develop device drivers and communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553) Integrate systems in lab and field environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware and systems Systems Engineering In this role, you may: Lead or support system-level design, integration, and validation of electro-mechanical subsystems Develop fire control algorithms and dynamic models using MATLAB/Simulink Define interfaces between hardware/software subsystems Interface with customers and suppliers on system requirements and validation Support testing activities (lab and field)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong technical foundation in either:
  • Embedded real-time systems and C programming (Software Track), OR
  • Hands-on experience working with integrated hardware/software systems
  • Control systems and signal processing (Systems Track)
  • Embedded Linux, cybersecurity tools, or RTOS
  • Willingness to work on-site in Goleta, CA
  • Travel may be required (up to 10-15%)
  • These positions require having a current Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain Security Clearance.
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or specialized training in your discipline
  • Experience with:
  • Control theory, fire control systems, and modeling/simulation
  • Vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Coverity, Fortify, Black Duck)
  • Network protocols and security
  • Defense or aerospace system development
