About The Position

Mesta Electronics, Inc., a leading U.S. manufacturer and part of the global Hammond Power Solutions network, specializes in designing, developing, and manufacturing advanced power quality and power conversion equipment. With over a century of expertise in dry-type transformers and related technologies, the company is committed to innovative design, superior efficiency, and exceptional reliability across its product range, from harmonic filters to induction heating power supplies. The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the definition, design, development, and implementation of innovative embedded software solutions using languages such as C/C++, Embedded C, and Assembly, from concept through commercial release. This role requires close collaboration with hardware engineering for product integration and design verification, as well as providing manufacturing for production support. The position is located in North Huntingdon, PA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in or related to Electrical or Computer Science/Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the Electrical Industry, Industry markets, transformers, Power Quality and related magnetic products.
  • Thorough understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller architectures.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Knowledge of communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, USB, UART and others.
  • Familiarity with version management, development, and debugging tools.
  • Customer-centric focus with a proven track record of building lasting relationships.
  • Strong coordination and deadline-oriented skills, adaptable in leading or contributing to multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in translating market research into clear strategies for targeted segments.
  • Expertise in navigating compliance and regulatory changes, understanding their impact on market preferences and product offerings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP, analytic tools, and sound product management fundamentals.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Experience with real-time control systems/theory highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, and verification testing of embedded software for power conversion product applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering team to integrate and debug embedded system code.
  • Author and maintain related software system documentation for both internal and external use.
  • Provide manufacturing and customer support to address production and field software issues.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
