About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey to support the U.S. Army's DEVCOM Armament Center. This role involves contributing to next-generation manned and unmanned combat systems through the design, integration, and testing of software and hardware for direct-fire weapons, artillery, and other robotic armament systems. The position focuses on direct engineering and integration activities rather than program management, offering the opportunity to work with real military hardware and software from various industry partners. Travel of approximately 4-8 trips per year, 1 week at a time, is required.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop, test, and integrate embedded software for robotic and wireless-controlled armament systems.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with hands-on integration of vendor software and internally developed solutions onto tactical hardware platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate with vendors and program stakeholders to architect and refine solutions.
  • Skill in performing system-level testing and diagnostics in a lab environment.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools such as Wireshark.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining version control repositories (Git).
  • Ability to support field testing, system demonstrations, and user feedback sessions.
