Job Overview: Embedded Software Engineer (QGOV Division) - (Top Secret Clearance Highly Desired) Location: San Diego, CA or Boulder, CO About QGOV Qualcomm Government Technologies (QGOV) partners with U.S. government agencies to deliver cutting-edge wireless solutions that meet mission-critical needs. We specialize in secure, high-performance technologies that leverage Qualcomm's leadership in mobile innovation. Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance which requires US Citizenship. Position Summary We are seeking versatile Embedded Software Engineers to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in embedded software development and cellular technologies. A comprehensive understanding of 4-5G modem stack layers, including L1, L2, RRC, and MAC is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with government or defense-related wireless systems.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP specifications and modem architecture.
  • Experience with DSP programming and hardware/software co-design.
  • 7+ years of experience in embedded systems and wireless modem development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with 5G modem stack layers
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Experience with debugging tools, JTAG, and protocol analyzers.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices and government standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for 4-5G modem systems.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate modem features into secure government platforms.
  • Analyze and debug complex issues across the modem stack (L1/L2/RRC/MAC).
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and system-level design.
  • Support system bring-up, integration, and validation in lab and field environments.
