Lockheed Martin Space is looking for a Embedded Software Engineer Staff (Level 4) to join our Space Software Product Line (SSPL) organization and help lead an embedded software team responsible for deploying space and missile flight software to multiple programs and projects. The Software Engineer Staff will be responsible for working with the software development team and project stakeholders to create, refine, and execute on a roadmap of capabilities and software features. This role will include software technical lead responsibilities and accountability for program deliveries focusing initially on SDA programs with the potential for growth to other projects in the future based on organizational demands.

Requirements

  • Eight + years of software development experience
  • Demonstrated technical leadership or product ownership for software projects
  • Familiarity with Agile software development and Scrum teams
  • Experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), such as UNIX/Linux or VxWorks
  • Experience deploying embedded flight software to hardware test environments or higher level assembly integration and test
  • Strong technical reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Preference given to candidates living within close proximity to a LM facility
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools including JIRA
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD concepts
  • Experience with Secure Boot, Zero Trust Architecture, Government-Owned/ Contractor Operated (GOCO)
  • Experience with RMF Cyber Controls and the following government standards: CSNA 2.0, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1200, CNSSP 12, CNSSP 15, CNSSP 1253, CNSSP 1254, NIST SP 800.
  • TS/SCI Clearance or DoD Secret Clearance
