Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our growing digital water team. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing embedded control systems for Zurn Wilkins' Digital Master Mixing Valves (DMMs), ensuring seamless integration with modern Building Automation Systems (BAS), and supporting field commissioning and troubleshooting efforts.

  • Develop embedded software and control logic for next-generation DMM products using industry-standard languages and platforms (e.g., C/C++, IEC 61131-3, Python).
  • Design and implement robust communication protocols for seamless integration with BAS platforms (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and MQTT).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, product, QA) to define system architecture, validate performance, and refine user functionality.
  • Support field commissioning and remote diagnostics, including root-cause analysis and updates to firmware and control algorithms as needed.
  • Interface with facility managers, contractors, and commissioning agents to ensure successful field implementation and system performance.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance testing (e.g., ASSE 1017, 1070) and ensure software reliability under various field conditions.
  • Create detailed software documentation, including control logic, system diagrams, and test procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded systems or controls engineering, preferably in building automation, HVAC, or plumbing products.
  • Experience with control system development (PLC/RTU/microcontroller-based) and integration into building automation environments.
  • Familiarity with field protocols (BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU/TCP, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools, firmware deployment, and commissioning support in the field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for product testing and commissioning support.
  • Experience with digital water mixing technology, sensor integration (temperature, flow), or thermal balancing systems.
  • Understanding of plumbing standards and building safety codes related to hot water systems and Legionella risk mitigation.
  • Exposure to agile product development, IoT platforms, or connected product ecosystems.
  • Competitive Salary
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, AD&D, and Life Insurance
