About The Position

Piper Companies is seeking an Aerospace Embedded Software Engineer with deep expertise in software development and integration for hardware artifacts to lead engineering efforts for a cutting edge, defense/aerospace initiative. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of greenfield project in aerospace. This role requires 4 days weekly onsite in Owego, NY.

Requirements

7+ years of embedded software engineering experience
5+ years of domain-specific experience in avionics or defense systems.
Avionic Human-Machine Interface
Cockpit and mission computing systems
Military aircraft navigation and sensors
Aircraft survivability
3+ years of experience with real time operating systems
Experience with DO-254 and DO-178 compliance.
Experience with C/C++, Python, Microsoft Developer Studio
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing support for Software Development, Integration, and Test activities across the full development lifecycle
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of software design documentation and engineering artifacts
Develop, review, and maintain software source code and associated deliverables
Author and execute software test procedures, and document test results to ensure system reliability and compliance
Participate in software integration efforts, both remotely and on-site at various locations as required
Engage in and lead technical engineering reviews, offering subject matter expertise and constructive feedback
Ensure all work products and deliverables are properly documented in accordance with Engineering Data SDRL requirements
