About this Role: In this role, you will join a world class team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers within the Surgical Operations Unit. This is one new, powerful operating unit bringing together the people and product portfolio of Surgical Robotics and Surgical Innovations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years experience with C++/C
  • Experience Developing Embedded Linux deployments
  • Working knowledge of embedded software development best practices.
  • Experience in Linux driver development
  • Experience with python development
  • Background in DevOps, CI/CD, embedded software toolchains and version management systems

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of OOA&D concepts
  • Hands-on experience in navigating FDA and ISO/IEC standards, including ISO 13485, IEC62304, and ISO 14971.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity techniques such as code signing and encryption
  • Experience with Yocto Linux
  • Windows, and cloud platforms knowledge
  • Experience with embedded graphics technologies
  • Xilinx Toolchain experience
  • Experience with Git, Bash, gnu tools

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates software change requests to medical devices and supporting tools
  • Leads SW Project teams and/or major features
  • Mentors engineers in their areas of expertise
  • Designs, implements, and tests software changes for medical devices
  • Participates in change control board, risk reviews, and other project meetings as necessary
  • Works with cross functional team to communicate changes, and understand impacts to their function
  • Creates documentation throughout the development process
  • Commits to achieving and exceeding project goals and timelines
  • Performs duties in compliance with the Quality System
