About The Position

Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
Main Responsibilities for an Embedded Instructor:

Provide training on the job
Mentor workers on the skills and qualifications necessary to perform work
Support employees in successfully transferring their formal training to the job
Perform training validations to ensure training effectiveness

The instructor will also be expected to develop an understanding of the production work underway and scheduled for the contract or area they are assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of exempt experience; Master's degree and 1 year of exempt experience
• One of the following may be used as equivalent to a bachelor's degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate
• High school and 5 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
• Graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School
• The following may be used as equivalent to the number of exempt years of experience required, in addition to the education requirement above: 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Nice To Haves

• Strong X31 production trade skills and training background
• Good fundamental administrative and organizational abilities, including MS Office products
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
• Has sound critical thinking, assessment and facilitation skills
• Sound knowledge of NNS product line
