About The Position

-Technical lead in embedded hardware development for power electronic based circuit breakers -Develop product technical requirements by working together with marketing and application teams -Perform embedded design and testing tasks for hardware development -Work with team to develop control and electrical fault management algorithm and hardware using HIL -Plans work in detail at individual level as well as a technical lead, creating a robust and trackable plan, coordinated with the larger development team, including requirement definition and issue tracking -Review own work and others work in formal design and quality reviews -Tests own work or work of others, meeting quality and reliability goals -Develops a high level of technical expertise in embedded hardware design -Performs and contributes to technical research and investigations -Collaborates with teams from ERL, Electrical Sector Center of Excellence, and external technology resources (National Labs and Universities) for technology and product innovation -Follow Prelaunch and PROLaunch phase-gate new product development processes -Generates value added intellectual property -BS in Engineering field, prefer Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science -Minimum 10 years experience developing embedded hardware/firmware for electronic devices -Proficient in C -Experience with wireless communications systems, such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and CAN -Experience in using defect tracking systems and code repository -Knowledge of and experience with project tracking tools such as Jira and JAMA

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering field, prefer Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 10 years experience developing embedded hardware/firmware for electronic devices
  • Proficient in C
  • Experience with wireless communications systems, such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and CAN
  • Experience in using defect tracking systems and code repository
  • Knowledge of and experience with project tracking tools such as Jira and JAMA

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in developing device drivers and hardware bringup
  • Experience with embedded hardware in 8 bit through 32 bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex, PIC)
  • General knowledge of industrial circuit breaker design, requirements, and applications
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Enjoys hands on work and has experience with lab equipment and safety
  • Experienced in code sharing tools and multi-person development
