Remote Sensing is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to guide a team through developing complex Payload Flight Software (PLSW) at Lockheed Martin Space. The selected candidate will work as an embedded, real-time PLSW development and integration engineer. The next-generation payload flight software development and deployment will use modern architectural concepts, model-based methodologies and software toolchains to deploy to mission-critical code to existing single-core processors. This person will be responsible for developing software for real time control and interaction with other hardware and software subsystems and testing in a software-only and hardware/software environments, including execution of integration tests to validate hardware to software interfaces, software to software interfaces, and functionality. The job responsibilities include analyzing the hardware, software, and system requirements and implementation; developing and testing code utilizing Model Based Design approaches; establishing development and test tools; identifying and resolving anomalies during test on various software- and system-level platforms; identifying and implementing required software modifications and participating in technical reviews/audits of software products. The candidate will primarily provide hands-on design, development and integration efforts along with perform software engineering in all phases of the software lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP). The candidate will also participate in major program reviews and will participate in interface working groups, that may include the customer.

Requirements

  • Experience of embedded software development using C/C++, Object Oriented Design and Real-Time programming constructs.
  • Knowledge and experience of embedded and closed loop SW systems, and the verification thereof in both software simulation/emulation and hardware-in-the loop systems.
  • Tools Experience with IBM DOORS, CAMEO (SysML/UML), Wind River WorkBench, and Wind River VxWorks 6.x/7.x.
  • Active TS Security Clearance.

  • Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems, hardware, telemetry, command & control.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration.
  • Demonstrated experience using the Agile methodology in the development, integration and test of complex software systems and environments.
