We are looking for a self-motivated Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our growing company. This individual will help design and develop battery monitoring and management systems for industrial battery chargers, inverters and DC back-up power systems. This person will be involved from concept investigation and design, through successful production launch and support of these products.

  • Participate in the full life cycle of product development including requirement definition, design, implementation, test, and maintenance.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain product firmware for system controllers, sensors, and accessories for power systems and battery monitors with embedded microcontrollers.
  • Perform required testing for design verification, and system integration to ensure performance and reliability under all operating conditions.
  • Specify and design production tests and equipment to support the introduction of new products into production.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in development and testing with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
  • Mastery of computer programming and scripting languages (C, C++, BASH).
  • Knowledge of board level communications (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.).
  • Experience using lab test equipment such as high-speed digital scopes, power supplies, electronic loads, voltmeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Self-starter and deadline driven with an emphasis on releasing application features to the end customer.
  • Experience taking a design from concept into volume production.
  • Experience with IoT protocols like MQTT.
  • Experience with Zephyr.
  • Experience working in Linux development environments.
  • Experience with power electronics and analog sensors.
  • Experience with the following protocols: SNMP, MODBUS, DNP3, IEC61850.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts.
