About The Position

We are looking for an Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer specializing in Electric Powertrain Software to support compliance with EU Cybersecurity regulations and OEM-specific cybersecurity requirements. Cybersecurity in the automotive domain is a niche discipline requiring highly specialized knowledge across embedded systems, cryptographic services, toolchains, and regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will bring a deep technical background along with experience interfacing directly with OEM engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University degree in Electronics, Automation, Computer Science, or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Developer in automotive embedded systems.
  • Understanding of ISO 21434 cybersecurity requirements and automotive process frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Infineon Aurix Tricore TC3XX and integrated ARM Cortex HSM secure module.
  • Expert knowledge of Tricore and HSM memory manipulation, secure services, and low-level integration.
  • Expert implementation experience with: Cybersecurity incident logging mechanisms and UDS diagnostic services (ISO 14229)
  • In-depth knowledge of Key Management Systems, OEM or supplier based.
  • Extensive experience with AUTOSAR architectures and Vector MICROSAR toolchains.
  • Proficient user of Vector tools
  • Understanding of typical FOTA sequences and secure OTA update implementation strategies.
  • Expert understanding of automotive bootloaders, secure boot, and authenticated update workflows.
  • Expert-level experience with Lauterbach Trace32, TASKING iSystems & Associated debugging toolchains and scripting environments.
  • Experience interfacing with OEM or Tier-1 technical personnel in requirements, debugging, and integration contexts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in constrained embedded environments.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate complex cybersecurity topics clearly.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams including hardware, embedded software, diagnostics, and security experts.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure product compliance with EU Cybersecurity regulations and ISO 21434 requirements.
  • Interpret and implement OEM-specific cybersecurity requirements, including feature specifications and compliance audits.
  • Develop, integrate, and validate secure embedded software for electric powertrain control units.
  • Implement and maintain secure boot and automotive bootloader workflows, including update and authentication mechanisms.
  • Support design and implementation of Key Management Systems (KMS) for OEM and/or Tier-1 supplier environments.
  • Implement cybersecurity incident logging mechanisms and integrate with UDS-based diagnostic services.
  • Support FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) sequence design and secure field update capabilities.
  • Collaborate with OEM technical teams, cybersecurity architects, and internal platform developers.
  • Participate in design reviews, cybersecurity verification activities, and documentation deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams regarding secure embedded development practices.
