Sound engineering judgment, excellent communication skills, the ability to influence change, and the ability to drive decisions are a must.   The Thermal Performance Engineer will ensure that vehicle functional objectives are achieved and will recommend actions to the Product team. The selected candidate will conduct reviews of functional systems (simulation and testing), cooling systems status with program chiefs, development test planning with lab engineers, and annual hot trip execution for assigned programs. The Engineer will also lead the communications and reporting of issues which include status updates and driving issue resolution. The Thermal Performance Engineer will be responsible for proactive planning and tracking of vehicle validation, active support of aero/thermal attributes, and DVP&R test and reporting. The engineer will occasionally be required to interact with members of the exterior styling studio.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Chauffeur’s License or willingness and ability to get one

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with thermal development, HVAC, or cooling systems
  • Experience with data acquisition systems
  • Experience with drive cell / wind tunnel testing
  • Experience working with and directing bargaining unit mechanics
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Proven ability to lead teams
  • Class A Commercial Driver License

Responsibilities
