Job Summary: This role collaborates with others and works with some autonomy to manipulate small components and assemble precision loaded parts, including handling explosive/energetic powders.

  • Use precision when positioning to achieve throughput levels, reduce errors, eliminate waste and boost productivity
  • Maintain accurate records of production data and lot traceability
  • Disassemble defective parts or components
  • Use calculator and other departmental approved devices as required
  • Weigh materials, products, containers, or samples to verify pack weights or ingredient quantities.
  • Read and follow all written work instructions
  • Grade, classify, or sort products according to sizes, weights, colors, or other specifications.
  • Use dials and pressure gauges and compare configuration charts
  • Inspect work product to identify non-conformances and reject products, materials not meeting specifications.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers, pressure gauges, or micrometers.
  • Must meet established production goals (i.e., maintain 97% throughput, hold scrap to under two percent)
  • Monitor calibration of machines and report discrepancies
  • Work in a team environment
  • Utilize Labor Tracking module/payroll Interface each workday multiple times per day
  • Promptly communicate assembly problems/challenges to supervisor
  • Train/qualify on basic gages and visual criteria for process-specific Assembler checks
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the workspace as a controlled access environment which may involve scheduled housekeeping duties
  • Adhere to the team’s meal, break, and rest period schedule to ensure there are no lone workers and to support safe production
  • Complete initial training by observing other operators or technicians during first week of employment
  • Wear standard-issued uniform, footwear, and personal protective equipment in the designated workspace
  • Cotton clothing required to be worn under issued uniform
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
  • Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug and alcohol screenings
  • Comply with internal non-disclosure agreement requirements
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearm, and Explosives “Employee possessor”
  • Pass the Valor explosives safety training test and maintain annual qualification
