About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Mall Security in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, providing a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with the public, and deliver exceptional customer service. This role is both armed and driving, offering the opportunity to make a positive impact through teamwork, integrity, and a caring culture that puts people first.

Requirements

Have 5 or more years of security-related experience or have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Possess a Level III armed certification if applying in Texas.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Monitor entrances, exits, and key areas within the retail environment to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or disturbances.
Maintain thorough documentation and incident reporting in accordance with Allied Universal standards.
Communicate and coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
Operate and maintain assigned security equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws.
