This role is a Team Lead position at Xylem, where you will mentor and train Process Operators, coordinate daily team activities, and set expectations around safety, quality, and scheduling. Acting as a key support for plant supervisors, you will oversee operations, issue permits, troubleshoot equipment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. With responsibilities across carbon reactivation, resin regeneration, and quality testing, this position requires strong leadership, technical skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. As a Team Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth plant operations while empowering your team to deliver innovative and sustainable water technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all workplace safety policies and product quality guidelines.
  • Mentor and train Process Operators.
  • Coordinate team activities, establishing daily expectations for safety, quality, and scheduling.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and conduct housekeeping/5S audits.
  • Issue Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, and confined space permits.
  • Perform floor supervisor duties in the supervisor’s absence.
  • Read and follow documented processes and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment throughout the shift to ensure proper operation.
  • Load and unload deliveries to and from regional branches.
  • Use computer systems to enter required documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Adjust and monitor plant operations through control systems.
  • Maintain inspection and inventory of operational tools.
  • Address internal and external customer needs in alignment with expectations.
  • Bag products, prepare samples, and ensure proper labeling of each bag.
  • Manage spent carbon feed to the reactivation furnace.
  • Switch tank feeds for spent carbon.
  • Calibrate pH probes and operate a filter press.
  • Run facility wastewater treatment plant and calibrate weigh belt every two hours.
  • Check incoming city water Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) daily.
  • Ensure Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) discharge parameters are within permit limits.
  • Perform hourly inspections of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and complete logs.
  • Sort bottles by size and resin type.
  • Operate a forklift to move resin tanks and materials within the factory; assist with truck loading.
  • Evacuate bottles and regenerate resin batches.
  • Fill and quality test SDI products, processing them from start to finish.
  • Complete quality control documentation.
  • Monitor various meters, gauges, and pressures.
  • Regenerate resin to replenish mobile de-ionization trailers.
