About The Position

The Elite Technician at DriveTime Family of Brands is responsible for performing comprehensive automotive repairs and inspections on a variety of vehicles. This role focuses on ensuring safety and drivability through advanced repairs without direct customer interaction, allowing technicians to concentrate on their craft. The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols in a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/Technical degree or professional experience equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Minimum of 5 years on-the-job experience performing light to medium line work (Brakes, Engine, Steering/Suspension, Cooling, A/C, Electrical).
  • Must own your own tool set.
  • Ability to work on all makes and models (Domestic, European, and Asian brands).

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong teamwork skills to work effectively in a high-functioning team environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure quality work.
  • Timeliness and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanically inspecting vehicles for safety and drivability while documenting findings into the inventory management system.
  • Working with Reconditioning Center Management to repair or reject inventory based on estimated cost of repairs and overall vehicle quality.
  • Performing advanced automotive repairs, including proficiency in cooling, braking, charging, steering/suspension, AC, and electrical systems.
  • Identifying and completing repairs effectively the first time to minimize re-work and delays in production.
  • Test driving repaired vehicles to ensure that the problem has been completely fixed.
  • Working in ways that decrease the possibility of injury to yourself or other team members in the shop.
