The Eligibility Worker II is responsible for making initial and continual eligibility determinations of public assistance and grants for an assigned number of public assistance applicants and participants. This position is classified as journey-level within the Eligibility Worker class series and reports to an Eligibility Supervisor. The role involves managing a caseload and making independent determinations of eligibility for various public assistance programs, including CalWORKs, General Relief, CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and Foster Care. Responsibilities include interviewing applicants, explaining program provisions, reviewing financial information, and making recommendations based on eligibility criteria.
