About The Position

The Eligibility Specialist II is responsible for managing patient encounters within the EPIC Practice Management System, which includes entering, reviewing, accepting, scrubbing, and correcting data. This role also involves handling patient demographics, insurance verification, and recertification, compiling patient encounter data, and communicating with patients via inbound and outbound calls. The specialist will also prepare communications, reports, and records for clinics as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience required in a clerical environment
  • Minimum of one year Customer Service experience required (preferably in a clinical environment)
  • Experience in validating eligibility with healthcare plans is required

  • Entering patients’ demographics
  • Performing insurance verification
  • Performing recertification
  • Compiling patient encounter data materials
  • Making outbound calls to patients
  • Assisting patients through inbound calls
  • Preparing communication to clinics
  • Preparing reports as needed
  • Preparing records as needed
