The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated individual to join the Access and Eligibility Services (AES) division as an Eligibility Services Clerk. This role is crucial in assisting vulnerable Texans in need of food, medical care, cash assistance, and other social services. AES aims to provide an integrated and streamlined approach to connect individuals to services that reduce institutionalization, allow them to remain in their communities, and promote economic and personal self-sufficiency. The Eligibility Services Clerk provides a variety of clerical support services to Eligibility Operations staff in a service delivery office. This includes processing mail, opening and date stamping incoming applications and supporting documents, reviewing applications for completeness, logging and assigning complete applications, returning incomplete applications and assisting clients with completion, copying and returning original documents upon request, and responding to client inquiries. The job requires detail-oriented individuals with the ability to apply complex policies and procedures.
