About The Position

This position performs specialized fiscal and clerical functions to maintain Consumer financial accounts and benefits eligibility in accordance with established procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or AA and 2 years in related field.
  • Ability to operate ten key calculator by touch and make rapid and accurate calculations.
  • Ability to maintain timely and accurate Consumer and financial records on an agency-wide computer system.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and produce statistical reports.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to spell and punctuate accurately.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a detailed, organized manner.
  • Ability to use various computer applications, including, but not limited to spreadsheets, word processing, and email.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, sound independent judgment, flexibility, strong interpersonal, skills, and excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed independent analysis of fiscal, financial, and statistical records. Uses analyses to complete reports on Consumer accounts for internal and external audiences. Research information and handles internal/external inquiries by e-mail, telephone, in writing, or in person.
  • Works with other members of the Consumer Benefits Unit, as well as counselors, to meet deadlines and to complete benefits paperwork accurately. Acts as liaison between case management staff and all external entities.
  • Understands eligibility and other requirements for Federal benefits programs to which Consumer may be entitled.
  • Coordinates the collection of Consumer information for benefits applications, record-keeping, and reporting requirements. Prepares internal periodic financial and statistical reports for regional center use; prepares various reports submitted to financial institutions and government agencies.
  • Maintains documentation of Consumer eligibility for government assistance programs.
  • Maintains consumers benefit eligibility in compliance with government and vendor program requirements.
  • Documents, inputs, and reports Consumer work and wage status to government entities. Maintains files, financial records, and fiscal data for assigned Consumer Benefit Unit functions. Documents Consumer account transactions, including receipts and disbursements. Reconciles Consumer account activity and balances.
  • Prepares external reports and documents for financial institutions and government agencies.
  • Acts as liaison to and builds rapport with government and other agencies to coordinate exchange of Consumer information.
  • Prepares, enters, and verifies Consumer account data to include all pertinent information in a timely and accurate manner to mitigate loss of benefits.
  • Receives and/or disburses funds related to assigned area of responsibility in an accurate and timely manner as authorized by case management staff and approved by accounting manager. Responsible for accurate and timely preparation, processing, and verification of Consumer accounts in accordance with established procedures.
  • Supports effective and efficient business practice.
  • Maintains positive business relationships, confidentiality, good attendance, punctuality, and acts in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
