About The Position

Operates elevator to transport passengers between floors of the building apartments: Pushes buttons to control movement of elevator on signal or instructions from passengers or others. The job also requires them to greet users and pass information to the riders. Work is to be performed sitting in a stool during the shift. Duties and Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Coordinate all moving in/out, contractors, vendors, and deliveries. Open and close the door at each floor where users want to get into/out of the elevator. Ensure that all passengers get inside/out of the elevator with safety. He/she may need to press the stop/door-open button in case the elevator door starts closing suddenly. Pass information to the users regarding office, lobby, gym, pool, parking lot, or valet location and help them reach the correct floor. Transfer small goods, mail, and documents from floor to floor. Maintain the general appearance of the facility to include elevators and carry out minor maintenance. Provide a high level of customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, knowledgeable interaction and behaviors. Monitor equipment to ensure it's in good working order, participate in the overall maintenance of the facility and equipment - notify management of any necessary repairs or possible equipment concerns. Elevator operator must ring the security alarm in case of any mishap. Be an involved/engaged member of a team and be willing to act and think independently. Assist other team members while loading freight into the elevator. Work Environment The working environment will primarily be indoor and within the area of the elevators. The job site is located at a condominium building and/or hotel, where people reside. It may be a busy location where visitor, guests, vendors, owners, etc all are located. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Days and hours of work will be determine by the location based on their business needs. This schedule may change to accommodate the business needs of the location. Required Education and Experience Prior experience in a related position.
