About The Position

This is a temporary position from March 9 - May 1.

General Summary:
Coordinate and ensure safe operations of the elevator during high traffic times, such as outages or maintenance projects.

Requirements

• Knowledge typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in plant equipment and process knowledge
• Knowledge and general understanding of confined space and tagging clearance procedures
• Must be able to read, refer to specifications and understand directions, schedules and other sources of information, as necessary to correctly provide building maintenance to industry standards.
• Must be able to operate necessary equipment safely and efficiently in all plant site locations.
• Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Effectively communicate using verbal and written communications.
• Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with employees
• Ability and responsibility to work safely alone and with others while following REC safety rules, certifications and procedures.
• Ability and responsibility to ensure security procedures are followed including immediate notification of potential incidents.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the elevator is operating in a safe manner
• Report any unusual elevator door or elevator car movements, mechanical problems or trouble with the elevator
• Contact the control room or security if there are any notable events or injuries
• Do not allow the elevator to be overloaded to ensure safe operations between floors
• Emergency operation of the elevator using bypass mechanisms in the event of an emergency
• Aid in operating the phone and paging system as necessary
• Light cleaning of the elevator, including door tracks and sensors, to ensure the elevator can operate efficiently
