AECOM is seeking an Elevator Construction Inspector to be based in New York, NY. Responsibilities include assisting the project Superintendent and/or Project Manager by providing on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of elevator construction projects. The inspector is accountable for the organization and direction of elevator construction activities within assigned areas of responsibility, ensuring project safety compliance, particularly with elevator-specific safety regulations. The role involves interfacing with other administrative field staff and management, coordinating with client's resident representatives, conducting thorough inspections of elevator installations, verifying compliance with local, state, and federal elevator codes, reviewing and approving construction plans, performing load tests and safety checks, investigating accidents or malfunctions, maintaining accurate records, providing technical guidance and training, and staying current with evolving elevator technologies and safety standards through ongoing professional development.
