About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an inspiring world cultures teacher for our elementary grade levels. The World Cultures teacher will lead daily social studies instruction rooted in Florida social studies standards while incorporating African American studies, and projects across multiple grade levels. This educator should have a clear vision for social studies across the school that includes students engaging in learning about a variety of cultures. Social studies instruction will supplement other core academic areas and align with English Language Arts instruction. This is a full-time position and will work closely in our existing specials department which includes P.E. and other specials classes. As a specials teacher, they would see students across multiple grade levels and be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Leader. For the 2026-27 school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools (K-8) work from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Student hours are typically 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Every Wednesday is a student early release day (1:30 p.m.), which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in Elementary Education K-6
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
