About The Position
JOB SUMMARY: The Federal Work Study (FWS) Elementary Tutor is determined to help students learn to read and write in an elementary school setting. The individual applying for this job must be a current Columbia Gorge Community College student and must be financial aid and FWS eligible.
Requirements
- Must be reliable and able to work independently
- Experience working with children
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Must have own transportation to and from Chenowith Elementary
- Must be available at least 1 hour per week during the following times: ¦ Monday-Thursday 11:20-12:45 (preferred) or 9:45-10:45
Nice To Haves
- Previous work in an educational setting preferred
- Pursuit of a degree in education field is preferred
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and web are preferred
Responsibilities
- Commit to tutoring 6 hours per month
- Work closely with educators and students in K-5 setting
- Attend trainings throughout the academic year
