About The Position

We believe that it is the parent's responsibility to train up a child in the way he/she should go. Our role is to come alongside parents and offer a biblical base for the academic education families are seeking for their children. Our purpose is to partner with parents in growing their children in Christ. Our goal is to provide our students with a biblically based academic curriculum and to teach our students principles from God's word that they will apply to every aspect of their lives. The aide shall always strive to understand, appreciate, love, and serve alongside the teacher.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree
  • Multiple Subject California Teaching Credential
  • ASCI Teaching Certificate
  • Demonstrate Christ-like attributes in speech and actions.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to train up a child in the way he/she should go.
  • Must pass a pre-employment reference and background screen.
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a daily personal devotional life to be prepared spiritually for the demands of each teaching day.
  • Demonstrate, by example, love and obedience to Christ and His word.
  • Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled devotions.
  • Share on an alternating basis in the leading of faculty devotions.
  • Attend an evangelical church and serve in a church ministry as the Lord leads.
  • Provide all written/digital teaching plans required by the administration, which incorporate the school’s scope and sequence or other approved curriculum.
  • Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials to support creative teaching and meet the whole child’s spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional needs.
  • Develop a plan and method for evaluating the student’s work.
  • Request instructional equipment and supplies.
  • Clearly communicate the objectives and relevance of the material being taught.
  • Integrate Biblical principles as appropriate.
  • Determine that the students grasped the information being taught.
  • Demonstrate command of and enthusiasm for the subject matter.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, media, and evaluation tools.
  • Monthly update of bulletin boards in the classroom.
  • Provide reference to other disciplines and life examples to transfer, expand, and enrich learning.
  • Utilize effective classroom and instructional management techniques.
  • Reflect a Christ-like spirit in dealing with teacher-student, student-student, teacher-teacher, and teacher-administration relationships.
  • Recognize the value of time-on-task and demonstrate overall good use of the instructional period.
  • Arrange the physical environment to complement the learning atmosphere.
  • Responsible for maintaining progress reports and evaluations to be used during parent-teacher conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and complete school records.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, team members, faculty, office staff, and administration.
  • Clearly communicate compassion and empathy to all students, in keeping with the school's mission.
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle when addressing conflicts and personal issues between individuals.
  • Arrive punctually and attend all duties, programs, and meetings that are scheduled by the administration.
  • Serve on appropriate committees for the purpose of evaluating curriculum, textbooks, operational procedures, special events, services, etc.
  • Supervise extra-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned.
  • Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
  • Provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative functions in the school.
  • Support the school's broader program by attending extracurricular activities when possible.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the administration.
  • Actively support and maintain safety standards, training, and an ongoing safety program, resulting in a safe and healthy work and school environment.
  • Responsible for understanding the school’s fire, earthquake, and lockdown procedures and directing students whenever needed.
  • Responsible for taking on an assigned role in the disaster plan if ever implemented.
  • Responsible for filling out an “Ouch or Accident” report whenever administering first aid to a child.
  • Comply with requirements to report reasonable suspicion of physical abuse.
