About The Position

The Elementary Teacher - Long Term Substitute position at Fairport Central School District involves facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills for Grade 2 students at Jefferson Avenue Elementary School. Requirements

• New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) or Childhood Education (Grades 1-6).
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
• Successful prior teaching experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of current instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy.
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on student learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer school elementary curriculum.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, translating them into effective learning experiences.
• Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensure student conduct conforms with school standards and district policies, maintaining a functional learning atmosphere.
• Coordinate with other elementary professional staff to evaluate and assess curriculum.
• Participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Supervise students in activities outside the classroom during the school day.
