About The Position

We are seeking Elementary Classroom Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year to serve students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment; implement high-quality instruction aligned to curriculum standards; and support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students. Teachers must demonstrate a commitment to equity, student-centered learning, and ongoing professional growth.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional practices
  • Ability to create and implement engaging lessons that support a range of learners
  • Effective classroom management and organization skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum standards and assessment strategies
  • Experience with culturally responsive teaching and inclusive practices
  • Connecticut State Department of Education Elementary Certification (013)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a diverse, urban school setting preferred
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning tools
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Deliver standards-based instruction in core subject areas including literacy, math, science, and social studies
  • Create a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes learning for all students
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English learners and students with IEPs/504s
  • Utilize formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and track student progress
  • Establish clear routines, expectations, and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly classroom
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to plan and implement effective instruction
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Participate in school-based teams, professional development, and data-driven planning sessions
  • Integrate technology to enhance teaching and student learning
  • Support the social-emotional development of students through positive behavior strategies and responsive practices
  • Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documentation
