About The Position

The Bridgeport Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Teacher for the 2025 - 2026 school year at Tisdale School. The position requires the establishment and adjustment of instructional goals and objectives to align with district and school goals, as well as the needs of students. The teacher will design lessons that promote problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills, while maintaining standards for behavior that foster self-discipline and positive relationships among students. Ongoing professional development in content area and pedagogy is expected, along with planning learning activities that cater to individual differences among students. The teacher will also develop, administer, and evaluate assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills, monitor student progress, and involve parents and community members in the educational process.

Requirements

• Required Connecticut Certification: Elementary (305) (001) (004) (005) (008) (113)
• Three years' successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
• Experience in the use of educational technology.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
