About The Position

Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher will plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students, ensuring an atmosphere conducive to their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. The role involves supervising students in various school-related settings, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, and communicating effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community. The teacher will develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students while maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices.

Requirements

• Must be eligible or possess a Virginia Teaching License.
• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times on a regular basis.
• Create a classroom environment that encourages student involvement in the learning process.
• Provide an instructional program tailored to the needs of all students.
• Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Guide the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Establish learning objectives based on student needs and curriculum requirements.
• Utilize instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques that motivate students to achieve learning objectives.
• Ensure safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and policy.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct and develop classroom behavior rules.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside of instructional hours when required.
