About The Position

The Elementary Teacher (2025-2026 Pool) is responsible for planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students. The teacher will present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative guidelines. This position requires managing a classroom environment, effectively communicating and teaching on one or more subjects, and following school procedures. The teacher will monitor each student's progress and provide extra mentorship to those who need it, enforce school rules, and encourage good student behavior in and out of the classroom. The role involves teaching core concepts such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors using creative, hands-on methods of learning. The teacher should plan a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements and work with students individually to help them overcome specific learning challenges. Patience, compassion, and energy are vital qualities for success in this role, as the teacher will inspire, encourage, and develop young children with varying abilities and challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years' teaching experience in a Texas Public School.
  • Experience teaching children in the pre-kindergarten and elementary age group.
  • Degree in Education, with a focus on early childhood learning.
  • Valid Texas Certification in your area of instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements.
  • Encourage and monitor social interactions between children.
  • Instill a sense of respect and discipline in the classroom.
  • Supervise children outside of class time, such as during lunch and on field trips.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Set up materials and workspaces for class activities.
  • Communicate with parents about each child's life outside the classroom.
  • Create reports to inform parents about their children's progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
