About The Position

Position Overview: Develop and implement annual Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including the assessment of present performance levels and the coordination of all required special education and related services. Provide high-quality, specialized instruction designed to meet the specific goals and objectives of an elementary instructional resource caseload. Schedule and lead team meetings, working cooperatively with child study teams and service providers to develop holistic instructional strategies and interventions. Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment using various teaching techniques and behavioral principles to support students with diverse emotional and instructional needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • Valid Tennessee Teaching License with the appropriate Special Education endorsement (Required)
  • Prior experience in special education practices and supporting students with behavioral and emotional disabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree and High-Qualified (HQ) status (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of teaching experience, particularly within an urban or charter school setting (Highly Preferred)
