A successful candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team and have strong oral and written communication skills. Appropriate DESE licensure in Moderate is required and candidates should have previous experience working with elementary school students with a variety of disabilities including Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment, Communication Disorders etc. Restraint training and three years of experience is preferred. Candidates should have experience in the following areas: Strong behavior management skills Collecting and analyzing behavioral and academic data Providing specially designed instruction in both inclusion and pull-out settings Scheduling integration time for students Providing supervision to paraprofessionals Supporting social skills development Differentiating instruction Knowledge of a variety of academic programs Evaluating students using a variety of assessments (e.g. WIAT, GORT, TOWL, CTOPP, etc.) Writing reports, goals, IEPs, and progress notes
