Elementary Special Education Teacher

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities and creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

Requirements

• NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of Handicap Certification. Certification, CEAS, or CE required.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities, preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Provide small group and one-on-one instruction as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to address student needs and progress
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
