About The Position

The Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional at Rocky Mountain Prep plays a crucial role in supporting students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to a rigorous and loving educational environment. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass a background check.
• Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with scholars with disabilities.
• Experience working with elementary school students and diverse populations.
• CPI/NCI trained.

Responsibilities

• Support 1:1 with scholars who need assistance accessing the school environment.
• Assist in general education content classes and special education small groups.
• Implement interventions and supports as outlined in IEP/BIP.
• Collaborate with a mild/moderate case manager for daily instruction and support.
• Support scholars in the special education classroom and general education environment as needed.
• Assist in daily instruction, health-related needs, and recreational/play-based learning.
• Monitor and track required record keeping and behavior plans.
• Feed and supervise students during meals, including spoon-feeding and tube feeding as necessary.
• Carry out occupational or physical therapy activities as directed.
