About The Position

This teacher is responsible for teaching students in our Spanish language immersion program. Specific duties include: Analyze, design, and prepare course objectives and outlines according to existing state and school curriculum guidelines and requirements. Communicate closely and encourage parental involvement regarding program goals, classroom activities, homework, school functions and student progress. Demonstrate English Language proficiency to allow communication with parents. Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior that achieve an effective learning atmosphere. Evaluate pupil’s academic and social growth, keep appropriate records in a timely fashion and prepare progress reports. Identify pupil needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans. Maintain a professional day, as defined by building/and contract. Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of Skyward, newsletters, phone calls. Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors. Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework. Attend workshops, conference, and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices. Participate in a professional learning community on a regular basis. Integrate technology into instruction. This role will teach grades Kindergarten through Second Grade in Elementary School.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Education or a related field.
  • Must be eligible for a K-6 Elementary Teaching License.
  • Must also be fluent in English and Spanish, both oral and written communications.
