Reading Specialist (LTS) January 16, 2026, through the end of the school year Long Term Substitutes receive a daily rate of $125.00 for the first 20 days of work. Starting on the 21st day, they are compensated at the daily rate for either a Bachelor's ($344.82) or Master's ($370.56) level, based on their qualifications, for the remainder of their assignment. Reading Specialists improve student achievement and learning by providing literacy leadership to staff in their classroom practices in literacy instruction, curriculum, and assessment. They provide instructional guidance and support to teachers and students in a student-learning environment that enables students to acquire skills appropriate to age, grade level, and individual capacity. They support all learners in meeting high expectations as well as provide on-going rigorous and relevant professional development to staff. Reading Specialists are team oriented educators who employ data-driven practices to directly target the instructional needs of all learners.
