About The Position

The Elementary Permanent Substitute at Renaissance Charter at Crown Point plays a crucial role in ensuring that students continue their education smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teaches lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports daily activities in writing and provides feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follows all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consults with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class and during other times as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
