About The Position

This is a remote, part-time, long-term Math Specialist position at Made for Math. The company is an all-online math intervention service for families with students that have dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism, dedicated to getting students results through life-changing work. The role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about research and pedagogy, enjoy learning new software and finding answers independently, are eager to learn a structured and systematic math method, and love solving the puzzle of students who learn differently. The company is seeking experienced elementary teachers and is not looking for contract or summer-only workers. Preference will be given to applicants with current teaching licenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or other Education related fields
  • Good communication skills with parents
  • Patient and can adjust to the mood of the student
  • Able to teach in a fun and enthusiastic way while also keeping the lesson clutter free
  • Have at least 2+ years of teaching experience
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 14 hours with students per week
  • Must be able to work approximately 21 hours per week (including lesson planning/admin time)

Responsibilities

  • Meet with students in 25 to 55-minute sessions weekly
  • Work primarily in the morning (Monday-Friday from 7 AM - 12 PM Eastern Time)
  • Attend a weekly work meeting Mondays at 4 PM Eastern Time
  • Assess student’s starting point using our game-centered assessment
  • Curate lesson plans tailored to your students
  • Track student progress and email parents to communicate progress
  • Attend team meetings (Mondays at 4 pm Eastern Time and other times as arranged)
