About The Position
The Literacy Coach will participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborate closely with administrators and educators to strengthen instructional practices grounded in the science of reading research.
Requirements
- Valid Indiana teaching license with elementary certification
- Indiana literacy endorsement required
Responsibilities
- Expand educator’s knowledge of the science of reading research
- Assist in instructional planning with individuals and groups of teachers
- Conduct mini and full coaching cycles that target student outcomes
- Provide training and ongoing support in the use of formative assessment data to drive classroom instruction based on science of reading research
- Ensure that student achievement and growth data is routinely collected, reported, and used to drive instructional decisions at school and classroom levels
- Implement professional development on high-quality instructional practices aligned with science of reading research
- Provide small group intervention and instruction on a regular basis
