Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic Elementary (K-5)-Junior High (6-8)-High School (9-12) full-time paraprofessional (special education) to join our team. As a Providence Hall paraprofessional (special education) you provide instructional, behavioral and other support to special education students in the classroom or other areas of the campus, to include one-on-one support for them.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.
Willing to effectively problem-solve as needed.
Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
The position requires frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching to engage with students at their level and to perform instructional and supervisory duties in classroom and school facility environments.
Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facilities, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred.
Previous experience working with children, in an instructional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare the classroom to promote a healthy and safe learning environment for assigned student(s).
Ensure classroom safety guidelines are met at all times.
Utilize various techniques to be successful with managing assigned student(s).
Engage with assigned student(s) to enhance and encourage learning.
Assist the teacher(s) in modifying materials to meet specific needs of assigned student(s).
Provide basic caregiving duties, support, and encouragement in all aspects of development of assigned student(s).
Take necessary precautions to protect assigned student(s).
Monitor assigned student(s) in the classroom to minimize distractions and disruptions.
Assist students with personal hygiene, diapering/toileting, feeding, etc. as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues to support the MTSS process and support the school in general.
Maintain effective communication channels with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning community.
Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
